Boneset borer moth (Carmenta pyralidiformis), #2608

Larose Forest

This is a medium sized moth, at about 21mm, and is found in areas usually near wetlands, where boneset (Eupatorium perfoliatum)grows, as was the case here. However, it is sitting on a goldenrod leaf.

I wouldn't have even known this was a moth. Your insect id skills and knowledge are amazing. A beautiful capture too. V.
