Milk snake (Lampropeltis triangulum)

These snakes are mostly nocturnal. This was found in the exact location where we had one the previous year. They are most often found by looking under rocks. Although not rare, they are seen infrequently because of their nocturnal habits and propensity for hiding away in dark places. They are entirely harmless, non-poisonous snakes.

We had a couple of these living in our patio stone walls last summer. I know they are a good snake but we do not like snakes crawling around especially when I grandchildren were visiting. We had to chase them away.
