Black-horned tree crickets (Oecanthus nigricornis)

The large bodied female is on top of the male. YOu can tell the female by the long black ovipositor. The male has his wings raised (and you can also see two tiny red mites on his wings). On the male's back is a "pit" which is full of a sweet liquid that attracts the female. While she is feeding, the male attempts to transer a sperm packet to her. This female had several tiny round egg-like protrusions on the end of her abdomen.
