Black-horned tree crickets (Oecanthus nigricornis)

Here, the female is moving toward the male who has lifted his wings to expose a little pit just under the wings (if you look closely, you can see it). This is full of a sweet liquid that attracts the female. While she is feeding, the male attempts to transer a sperm packet to her. This female had several tiny round egg-like protrusions on the end of her abdomen.
