Sweat bee in bindweed flower

Alongside one of the trails I walk is a big field of fireweed (Epilobium angustifolium). Sprawling over the fireweed at the edge of the trail is a mass of this bindweed, the flowers of which were being visited by the metallic green sweat bees (Halictids).

Lovely image bringing us right into the mouth of the flower watching this bee at work. Well done Christine.

What a sweet Sweat Bee...like its fetal position in the depth of the flower.
