Hover fly (Sericomyia chrysotoxoides), bee mimic

This pretty bee mimic is a hover fly, in the Syrphidae family. They are exceptionally beautiful and I don't see them as often as I like, so when I do, I try to take a lot of photos. This one is on a tansy plant in mid-autumn.
