The winter feeders are up in some of the west end woodlands, and red squirrels are taking full advantage! In several locations, people set up and maintain feeders all winter long, a very generous gesture as they pay for all the seed (and the feeders) out of their own pockets. Other people bring along cracked corn for wild turkeys and deer. And still others bring fruit for the deer. Wildlife reap the benefits of this generosity, and so do human visitors who enjoy seeing them.
