Possibly Flying squirrel tracks

Thanks to several people for suggesting that these are probably Northern Flying Squirrel tracks. Not easy to see, but they do look more like flying squirrel tracks than anything else. The area in which I photographed them had perfect habitat for this species, lots of cavities, lots of food.

It looks like there is a print left by the membranous "wing" of the flying squirrel. Interesting you should post this now because lately I've been wondering if any of the many squirrel tracks I find but generally look over might be from flying squirrels.

It certainly looks like skid marks, great brakes for a squirrel, and I am amazed that you can read these signs!! V
