Paralyzed by Cerceris fumipennis, a wasp that specializes in catching small Buprestid beetles such as this one. There was a terrific battle going on as the wasp struggled to carry this beetle which was bigger than it was. It soon paralyzed the beetle and then tried to get it down its nest hole. When it could not do this, it dropped the beetle at the entrance and proceeded to dig another hole nearby!
