Salamander eggs

These eggs were wrapped around a branch in a small vernal pool. The water had receded slightly leaving them above the water, so after taking this photo, I moved the branch back into some water.

This is amazing. It looks like something I see on the microscope at work called coccidia.

Wow, incredible find! I've poked around vernal pools for the last two springs looking specifically for things like this and found nothing.
