Each figure is 6'2" in height, without a head.
The Nelson-Atkins website says the stark imagery is intended to invite diverse interpretations.
"Could they be awaiting final judgment? Do they suggest war victims? Are they primordial beings in silent communication?"
To me, it looks like they're awaiting roles as victims in an upcoming episode of Dr. Who.
