All about Lanewood Kennel

Hi,we are David and Faye Lane and we love Springer's, infact we have been raising them for 25 years. We are NOT a puppy factory. We breed only liver and white Springers from healthy parents that we have on site. Our kennel is cleaned twice daily to insure we have healthy puppies from healthy parents. Lanewood Kennel provides families with a lifetime companion. Our puppies are born to live a happy, healthy and long life with their new family.
In placing our Springers, our goal is to find the very best home for them that we can. We look for responsible buyers who are willing to accept the responsibilities of caring for a dog for a lifetime. We want our puppies to have a long, happy and healthy life with a loving family. We enjoy staying in contact with our puppies as they grow up, and we remain interested in how they are doing.
A love of this breed has kept us nurturing Springers for 25 years. We are hobby breeders but take the responsibility of raising puppies seriously. Our goal is to provide families with companions that will live long and happy lives.

Most English Springers are even-tempered, gentle, friendly, and sociable dogs that are great for kids. Intelligent, skillful, willing and obedient. Playful, energetic and a quick leaner. Merry, brave and sweet tail-waggers. Cheerful and courageous. They are affectionate, good natured and sincere, this dog loves everyone. Springers do best when they are with people as much as possible. They can get into trouble if left alone too long. They love water and may constantly get themselves wet and muddy. Usually they are good with other pets with the possible exception of birds. Sometimes argumentative with same sex dogs. Springers need wise guidance through what is called their "teenage" time. Some are high-energy and they are all extremely intelligent. They need a soft, but firm hand so they always know who is in control. There are two types of Springers - field and bench. We raise bench Springers for pets but keep in mind they are natural born hunters and train easily to do so. The field type are bred for hunting and field trial work. They tend to have more white coat than the bench type, much less hair, and are more high energy. The bench type are bred for conformation shows and have more liver or black than white, they have much more coat, but are usually calmer.

They will do okay in an apartment if sufficiently exercised. English Springer Spaniels adapt well to town or city life. They are relatively inactive indoors and will do best with at least an average-sized yard.

Springers enjoy as much exercise as you can give them. They need lots of it to be happy. They should have chances to take daily long walks and run and play off the leash. They love to retrieve and swim. These dogs perform very well in both agility skills trials and obedience competitions.
