The Garden was hit by a severe thunderstorm on 7/6/2009, which dumped several inches
of quarter- to golf-ball-sized hail. There was considerable damage, and these few photos show
only a bit of it. Many of the smaller plants were probably lost, trees (as shown here) sustained
more tolerable damage, leaving a carpet of leaves beneath their canopies.
