Detour via Wentworth (9 pictures)

It started to rain in the night at Lake Mungo. The roads out are unpaved and become impassable (or at least officially closed) when wet. I decamped at first light and drove out before anybody told me not to, but met the "Road Closed" sign at Pooncarie. So drove the long wet detour along bitumen roads via Wentworth to Broken Hill, and never got to Menindee, where the lakes were dry anyway!

Hello Paul, good to see images from the Wentworth region. I have quite a few cousins living on cattle stations there. During the 1970's and early 1980's our family would visit Cavan Station each September school holidays, great contrast to city life. Thanks for the images, cheerio, Paul L.
