Arkaroola is a resort with a strong environmental conservationist bent. It is based on a former
badly run sheep station which is gradually being brought back to “what it was before the white man
came.” They offer quality accommodation (which I couldn’t afford) and a restaurant (which I could,
and enjoyed). The caravan park area is up a stony hill out of sight of the “village” bit, with a
great view, mean showers (they are desperately short of water and hardly any of it can be coaxed
out of the shower head), and emus taking short cuts between the sites. I stayed here two nights.
