This Kookaburra drops in on our friends for a snack. I had the 60mm on the camera, no time to change it over but he was pretty calm about the big black eye being so close...at least for a few shots.
Handheld & straight out of the camera, resized & sharpened only

Canon EOS 350D
1/3200s f/3.5 at 60.0mm iso200 full exif

other sizes: small medium large original auto

Close up and personal. Great image. Very trusting but equally alert subject.

Beautiful. Yeah, he's a meat eater ok. You can tell by that sly expression of his. Nice going.

Well done. Kookies are among my favourite models. They are so good to have around.

Great shot - daughter Kate in Brisbane has experienced the stealth tactics of a Kookaburra whilst picnicking and lost a sandwich! Chris

My favourite bird!! Never seen one in the wild though...

Nice catch - the 60mm is a fine portrait lens even for unusual subjects!

Very cool that he just shows up for a snack like that! You had better hope that they are not like our local ocean-based seagulls - once attracted to food, you can never get rid of them!

Wow what a wonderful image. I really Like this one Laine!! V.
