On the 11th hour
Of the 11th day
Of the 11th month
WE SHALL REMEMBER THEM
Today marks the end of WW1 where over 40,000 Australian men lost their lives on the battlefields of Gallipoli & on the fronts of Bullecourt & Somme.
LEST WE FORGET.
We had visitors from Australia who made a point of visiting Gallipoli on Anzac day, when coming over to Scotland. I was amazed that anyone would make such a detour whilst visiting us. After I spoke to them I understood their passion, (not to mention that of the Turks who watched over them protectively from the cliff tops whilst they remembered their fallen). Incredible.
