Leafcutter Ants, Peruvian Amazon

Leafcutter ants doing their business in the Inkaterra Anaconda Wetlands. Hiking (with a guide) along the Rio Madre de Dios tributary of the Amazon River in the eastern part of Peru. The jungle is vast, dense, and hot. The series depicts an ant struggling with a leaf. A companion spies him struggling and joins to help. Then a third ant sees the action and joins. Finally two ants carry off the leaf. Social insects.
