Frame 4 Dark side Blue RAW Histo.jpg

READING THE HISTOGRAM to find Color Cast in Shadows.

A color cast often indicates a step was skipped in color-correcting an image. In this particular image and for purposes of the example shown here all steps of color correcting were skipped so color cast were created in the Camera in the RAW File. As a personal preference I usually shoot WB+1 toward blue

We are going to check for color cast by looking at and comparing the right and left Ends of the Red, Green and Blue histograms.

If one histogram does not extend to the left as the others this would indicate a color cast in the Dark Areas of the image (shadows). In my example we can see that the blue histogram does not extend quite as far to the left as Red & Green. This is an indication of Blue color cast in darker areas or shadows.
If two Histograms failed to extend to the left as far as the third them we must use this chart to determine color cast -
R+G = Yellow color Cast
R+B = Magenta color cast
G+B=Cyan color cast

In summary of color cast in dark areas of this image as I read this Histogram - They are there in blue but are not harsh.
