This sequence shows what can go wrong in a very short space of time,
a very fast flowing river and the linesman not reacting swiftly enough.
I believe that this is one of the famous Dunkirk 'little ships'
There was a lot of noise and horrible crunching as she struck the moored craft,
she knocked the large boat as well, much embarrassment I suspect.
The sound of the crunching was quite something, a couple of loud 'cracks' leads me to think that the impact wasn't all taken by the fenders. Been there, done that but not on such a scale. They didn't hang about to see what damage had been done but as this is their usual mooring I guess they will catch up.
Julian, first thought, the owner of the moving boat, (The Cruncher), might not tell the owner of the moored boat (The Crunchee) about this incident.
In which case the Crunchee might be willing to pay a small ? sum of money for this sequence of photos.
Any time I was out in a boat, of any size or shape. I was never frightened of the sea, the weather, the tide, or any freak conditions.
But other boats/skippers/ crews scared the crap out of me.
