The railroad bridge over the canal

It carries the freight train line to the bridge over the Potomac river where it joins the CSX mainline running on the other side of the river in West Virginia.

Looks like that bridge has been around for a while. Here we have some no longer in use, some turned into bridges for walking paths. I learned how much maintenance and care must be done on them over time to keep them in good condition. Seems that there are now bridges is daily use that are in serious need of updating.
