The Navajo lead difficult lives. Jobs on their reservation are scarce, and, apparently, the young people leave to try to find jobs. We found a few places like this that looked abandoned. I imagine that they sell stuff that they make, just like the lady we saw who was selling her trinkets at a viewpoint for Monument Valley.
