Good shot and caption. When I see houses like this it always makes me wonder why they've been abandoned. vote.

I think a lot like Greg.
I think about the history of this place and the people who once lived here.
I also wonder about last song played by the new looking blue drum inside.
Cliff22-Dec-2006 08:25
Interesting image with the spashes of colour.
Always thought provoking, your images, Karen.
Greg Harp22-Dec-2006 04:04
Interesting find, well presented. I agree that it's a shame that someone's home should be reduced to this. Every time I run across an old derelict of a house I always wonder about the people that built it (and the pride they showed in their workmanship), the families that lived here, etc. Interestingly enough the z-bar (the white bar on the right along the roof) looks pretty new...

I agree with Barb, an awfull shame.

Drum and red chair are the disturbing elements there. But the reason of the decay is also mysterious. Great find.
Lori Rolfe19-Dec-2006 18:25
I love the bright blue and red that stand out. Great contrast of materials..... v!
Kathy Pedersen19-Dec-2006 18:24
What an unsual find Karen, the ruins of this building and yet, the drum seems to be untouched by any disaster or decay of this old home. Well seen~ Voted

The drum !! what a strange combination. Your ability to find true life never lessens, Karen.
Guest 19-Dec-2006 14:10
Excellent composition, it emphasizes the empty space behind. Really nice shot!
Richard Vance19-Dec-2006 13:56
Looks like somebody really raised the roof with their drum playing! Very intriguing scenario and superbly composed and exposed image, Karen.
Best to you,
Dick:)

It saddens me to see old building like this go. Looks like someone lived here not so long ago. Nice capture Karen. GMV
