Hissy Kitty II

West Virginia

It took about a week to tame Hissy Kitty to be able to extract her from the maze of beams he was hiding in under the trailer. In the meantime, the flea population exploded and I would have to strip my clothes off on the deck after each visit. Still the dogs got them.

I finally reached the point where I could apply Frontline. Even though HK was a little underage for it, there weren't any other options and the vet reassured me that it would be okay.

So after the treatment, I waited two days and brought HK inside and confined him to a bathroom with the door to the vanity open so he could have a hiding place.

I shouldn't have worried. HK had formed an attachment to me. I think he sees me as his mother. And he is full of himself and thinks he is the king of his new world.

I've started socializing him with the other animals. At first, he puffed himself up and went after the dogs who ran in horror at this unknown animal. He thinks it is great fun to stalk them.

I'm teaching him to play properly since there were no littermates. In this photo, we're wrestling.

I need a name. I'm looking for something other than Snowflake or Ghost. :)

I realize I am a little late to this naming party, but how about sticking with hissy?

Back in may, fresh from the loss of my dog, I went out in search of a new kitten. I found the most wonderful little girl through a local rescue group. Once the group trusted me enough they told me the "story" behind the rescue of the great kitten. Apparantly she'd been living under a trailer in WVa with her litter mates as well as a litter of pups. The owner of the trailer with taking care of all of these guys and was incurring some major expenses particular when the kitten litter chewed through her A/C system. Apparantly the woman adores animals and was thrilled when the rescue group came to take these litters and rehome them.

I am just endlessly amazed by the human spirit.

So, what did you end up naming this guy?

Outstanding shots Karen. I'm sorry I don't have any ideas as to a name other than the obvious ones....

wow you saved him! he looks like a king there.... maybe you could name him that? The dog I grew up with was all white, her name was Angel, although you're actually the angel in this cat's life.

Been there, done that..
He? She? White colouring so often means deafness, have you checked?

I knew he would eventually become attached to you.
You already have 'Peanut', so how about 'Popcorn'?

That is the whitest cat I've ever seen. I smiled at the idea of her chasing the dogs.

Blue eyes, Babys got blue eyes, Like a deep blue sea, On a blue blue day
Blue eyes, Babys got blue eyes, When the morning comes, Ill be far away
And I say

Blue eyes, Holding back the tears, Holding back the pain
Babys got blue eyes, And shes alone again

Blue eyes, Babys got blue eyes, Like a clear blue sky, Watching over me
Blue eyes, I love blue eyes, When Im by her side, Where I long to be
I will see

Blue eyes laughing in the sun, Laughing in the rain
Babys got blue eyes, And I am home, and I am home again

Too long between pics Karen.
