Bell Ringer

This is David, one of my fellow Salvation Army bell ringers.

Yesterday David got in trouble for dancing around while ringing the bell. Some woman called the HQ and said her child was upset by it. Boo, the guy who's in charge of scheduling, drop off and pick up had to go out and tell him to just stand by the kettle.

The wind chill was minus 3 yesterday. The reason we jump around is to stay warm.

I had to go to Walmart and caught him at it again. :) This guy didn't seem to mind.

I wonder if she's ever done a charitable deed in her life...somehow I think not. Tell your friend to keep on dancing & making people smile like that chap.

One of these days I'll understand people who worry about things of no consequence. Until that time I'll be the one you see shaking her head slowly and sadly from side to side. I suppose it never occured to that woman that the thing her child was upset about was being stuck with HER as a mother.

Y'know.... since Pbase has been so crappy the past few days, I realized how much I missed looking at your slice-o-life photos from up there in Wild WV!! (crossing my fingers so as not to induce the slow down the server dragons :^)

I always like your people shots, Karen. They tell their own stories.

I wonder how upset the woman's child would be to observe a well placed and much deserved boot in his mother's ass... sorry, my tolerance for those kinds of people is very limited.

It's one thing not to give the ringers money but to call HQ on a freezing day....There's something wrong in the world today.... good for you and your friend, volunteering to stand by a kettle.... nice human interest shot BTW
