My first parachute jump took place when I was 18 years old. It was a static line jump from 3,500 feet. The airplane was a tiny Cessna 206. I was a freshman at UMass/Amherst and it was a lot of fun. The UMASS skydiving club was affiliated with the Massachusetts Sport Parachute Club. Today that club is known as Jumptown. It is a large facility serving experienced and non-experienced skydivers alike. Jumptown has a Twin Otter aircraft that allows for a faster climb to jump altitude. Today I jumped from 13,000 feet and I enjoyed the entire experience.
