This was magic for a former and future Floridian. Homer, Alaska, in August. No tourists on the beach for miles (except me). The biggest live thing I saw on the beach was a bald eagle and her (much-larger than she) offspring still in the nest (but too high and far away for a clear shot, hence the broader view of their neighborhood).
