The "scenes" were taken at a local May Day festival. The theme is Spring coming in to revitalize the world after the death of winter. Most of these were taken from the death part. I was trying to tap in to the fear of death that lies beneath the surface in our culture. Everyone dies but there is little talk about death and preparation for it - other than "be good". "Mom died" - "Take a couple days off work." I think it scares the crap out of people when it finally hits. I also think it is a bit odd that as our culture talks less about dying there is more graphical death through violence shown in our media.
I have been enjoying putting it together - there is some edge clean up that needs to be done and there is some "smdginess" that I might have a go at, though I kinda like the vaporous feel it gives. I have seen a few of the montages you (above and the Tarot picts) - did not reallize how fun it was - thanks for the inspiration! - brent
