I love the light just on the gravestone and the rest in shadows. It is interesting how nature gradually works its way into what is permanent in people's sights. Interesting that the light (symbolic of eternal) hastens the destruction of the gravestones permanence and returns it to the earth. Good stuff Flick, interesting and appealing.

Hi Warren, yes, I knew about that, it's one reason i used this photo.
We used to hear the song a lot when i was a kid, though I'm not sure it's origins are really well known here.

I don't know whether the name, John Brown, has any significance on the other side
of the Atlantic. On this side, he was a famous abolitionist whose execution shortly
before the American Civil War was memorialized in a famous Union marching song:

John Brown's body lies a-mouldrin in the grave,
John Brown's body lies a-mouldrin in the grave,
John Brown's body lies a-mouldrin in the grave,
His soul is marching on.
