2nd Place: Dead 190 Million Years by Flick Merauld

At least that's what it said on the box when I bought it.
Seen here photographed against the grain of one of the Victorian oak school chairs I have round my dining room table.

Hell.... I nearly didn't vote for this as I thought it was a placeholder! Very nice. G.

Love this one - not just because it fits the theme philosophically but because if its gorgeous, smooth, chalky texture and spot on exposure. Tim.

I've no idea who. Reveal yourself (don't take that literally ;-)
I only know that it said 190 million on the box - i feel vaguely distasteful at the thought that something was around that long ago and is now being packaged commercially.
Thanks for the comments. The lighting was a small 60 watt tungsten table lamp with a flexible stem.

Lovely, but here I am knowledgeable; I'd say 165,133,210 years old (but I'd need to actually feel it to be sure).
Textures and lighting are all good - well done.
(guess who)

Very cool, Wow 160 million years? Can't fathom it at all, Wood is just born in comparison to the fossil, The pattern difference really set it off.
