Both ends are cooked if you refer to the histogram. But, many an image is enhanced by ditching material at either end. Lucky it's all personal taste. Regards Paul
Hi Tim, he may have processed it for browsers other than Safari. Safari retains icc profiles, but the run of the mill browsers like IE don't. I always look at them in other than Safari and always up the red if the picture contains violets and purples.
I agree about the blown highlights. Actually there is just a touch of detail on her cheek in Camino. In Safari the whole tonal range is better with more mid tones presrved. I wish they would standardise colour profiles in browsers.
I use Monaco Optix and i must, must, must get a proper print profile when Dave's printer comes to me.
Mine is calibrated to the t*ts and I discovered the weirdest thing, just with this on picture apparently: if I import it into Lightroom it looks more or less right but in Safari it is slightly too contrasty looking at the right of the histogram (the cheek is blown) and slightly soft looking at the left so that the blacks look a tiny bit washed out.
