Jono, This one definitely throws me off balance ;) I think you should do a book of these scare crows. They are the oddest and most intimidating creatures. thanks John

G'day Jono - it's been great to track this guy thru your eye, and i'm guessing another trip to the wash for your jeans? It's certainly refreshing to see decent pics from this beast rather than all the rants. really enjoy the colours here also. Cheers, adrian

HI David - first of all, you know, I'm a literal kind of a guy, so:
1. I reckon it might easily be slightly obscene (I certainly thought so!)
2. It isn't titled redgrave church - it's the location(ish) see far right background
3. Yes - you've been reading too much Freud! MY subconscious is a completely unexplored area!
4. Sharpening halos - not, I think, sharpening, but slightly clumsy photoshop work (sorry!)
kind regards jono

Is it just me, or is there something mildly obscene about this shot? And why is it entitled "Redgrave Church"?....is that some subtle pun on religion and sexuality? Have I been reading too much Freud? Seriously, Jono, it's a wonderfully uncommon view of your friend. (I'm just a little annoyed, again, by the sharpening halos, on the underside of the arm and torso. Maybe it's my monitor, but I did view it on two to make sure.) -- DF

Hi There
Thanks for the pointer Flick - the vignetting didn't look bad in 16 bit RGB - but compressing for the web made it POP out.
Better now? Incidentally - converted using Lightroom - I love it! jono

I agree with Flick about the pain. For me, the diagonal composition really adds to the tension of the picture. Plus I like how it seems to be kneeling in the first strong furrow which is aided by the shadow.

Gawd, that looks painful. Very effective, though if it were me i'd remove the vignetting in the top corners.
Flick.
