Summer 2004 Tim Ashley

:: Arun Valley :: by Tim Ashley

West Sussex

Hmm, this is the view from my 'front room' as cropped from a far larger original and run through the photoshop mill. The RAW file (can't find it for now, so no EXIF) was very flat and unpromising but I kept tweaking until it looked like it looked when I shot it. Looks much better bigger because there's a lot of lovely detail and texture, but I'm fond of it anyway!

other sizes: small medium original auto

Mistress Flick, how devious you are! Tim

Just cheat and dropper from an appropriate colour or three, then use the paintbrush (says she who used to draw in missing detail on film prints ;-)
Flick.

Thanks! The field isn't quite blown out in the original but it's almost there since it's freshly ploughed chalk. I Find the problem with shrinking images to fit the required size on screen means you have to make some sacrifices somewhere, though I suppose I could have cloned in a field from a differently-levelled copy. Hmm, now that's an idea... Tim

Thats really nice Ashely I really like it when you can get the seperation with the mist and the trees very nice look, I can see why it would look better large to bad that blown out field is in the view or you would have a very sellable print.
