Flick this is absolutely wonderful. Her eyes tell such an amazing story and I love all the abstract patterns in the background. A fabulous shot. Kate

Hi jono, thank you - but I think you're doing yourself down...they're just different (different animal, different environment and approach).

Thanks Charles for your lovely comment. I feel like shooting her myself sometimes - especially after the chucking up on the rug incident ;-)

Ahh Flick, what a stunning portrait of Inka! (all the more so because I've tried my hand at shooting her myself: I had the light, I had the subject, and got nothing of worth. I could just _feel_ the potential, and you've so beautifully captured it :-)

veggie oxo to you, Chas

Why thank you David :-) It's all down to the beauty of the model, with her pale coat and huge eyes - not so beautiful when she threw up all over kelim rug in the front room later in the day :-(

It's a great overall effect, Flick. Well planned and brilliantly executed. I like this image more and more every time I look at it. -- DF

Thanks Kim. That quality of emerging from the background is a combination of depth of field and high key. The latter is why I was waiting for a sunny day to take the shot - the sun comes right in through the bay window in the living room, giving enough natural light to produce the effect I wanted.

I think this is a wonderful portrait! She seems to simply emerge from the background, due to the lightness of her coat, and her eyes have that far away, classically downcast look. Beautiful. --Kim

Thanks David, do you think so? The message I put here for jono has been deleted, but if he objects, I'll still remove this. I didn't know he'd posted a dog one till I went to upload this. I'd planned to do this for some time - just waiting for a sunny day.

Why remove it? It's a beautiful portrait, soft and sensitive. And it makes wonderful "bookends" next to Jono's. Keep it! -- DF
