2nd Place Bentley by Quentin Bargate

Thaxted, Essex, England

I love classic cars, but actualy only drive an old heap (not a classic..). However, this Bentley is certainly a classic. Converted to monochrome, then duotone, then back to RGB for web posting. I have a huge print of this on my wall at home.

Kodak DCS Pro 14nx ,Nikkor 28-200G

other sizes: small medium original auto

Thanks Paul, Flick, Shelby and Jono. The 28-200G is a cracker for the money. I had the Sigma 12-24mm with me but it would have been a little too wide even at 24mm - Quentin

Wonderful shot Q. I hadn't realised that you took it with that little G lens - it certainly comes up with the goods!

Well done Quentin, I like how the focal length of the lens you used gives such dominance to the front end, (the lights, the radiator). It give it a great effect.

Not fair Quentin! As you already know, I particularly like this shot. I've tried on occassion to emulate the tone. Well done. Regards Paul

Thanks, Dave. For me, the toning really helps make the picture, but that's just my taste. - Quentin

I'm not sure about the toning but the composition is superb. Room for many different variations, I'm sure.
