Equal 5th - Portrait of an Amateur Astronomer by Blaine Byers

The Dark Skies of New Mexico

Me as an inverted mirror image in the primary and secondary mirrors of my Celestron telescope. While in college years ago I worked for Clyde Tombaugh, discoverer of the planet Pluto, processing and printing his astro film. He sparked my interest in astronomy and, although I didn't become an astronomer, I enjoyed it as a life-long hobby.

Although technically accurate, I wish the image had been inverted for the viewer's convenience! Great SP. --Kim

Blaine, that's a really original interpretation. You had me turning my head to see what you look like right way up.
Flick.
