Flick - I checked in the mirror, and you're quite right . . . . and the left shoulder is the one that's carried the camera bag all these years! (you might think it was the droopy one). I find it rather terrifying that you can 'remember' - I'm banking on an inspired guess! kind regards jono

And thess are the fellows who talked me into buying a Kodak on dpreview?
Wow! Shelby
kodak_challenge20-Mar-2005 18:32
Yes, this requires a triptych, with the original in the middle, of course! --Kim
kodak_challenge20-Mar-2005 11:57
Because i remember. (now you're going to to tell me I got it wrong)
Flick.
kodak_challenge20-Mar-2005 11:48
HI Flick - how do you know that? Warren - it's an interesting point the symmetricality - maybe I should have done a tryptych? kind regards jono
kodak_challenge19-Mar-2005 20:46
Kim, the right face his his left half and vice versa.
Flick.
kodak_challenge19-Mar-2005 20:43
i must be very dysfunctional as i find these two symmetrical faces disturbing...possibly because he's pulling such a manic face ;-)
Flick.
kodak_challenge19-Mar-2005 20:41
This is an interesting dualistic portrait, Jono. But I'm still wondering which half is the right and which the left?! PS...Warren, the two halves of your sweet potato aren't entirely symmetrical...what does that mean? :) --Kim

Flick, you should have taken that class in evolutionary psychology when you were in college. If you compare these two faces with the original, you will probably find that the two symmetrized versions are more attractive. Facial symmetry is correlated with health, which is correlated with fertility, so there is natural selection for people who are attracted to symmetric mates. I wonder if similar demonstrations are used in art classes? - Warren

I wish i could claim to have been that clever.
Flick.
kodak_challenge19-Mar-2005 17:56
LOL - thanks everyone - Flick - I thought you'd twigged immediately - Manta - I've added my butt to the exhibition gallery as an act of solidarity (although possibly that's not quite the right word!
Kind Regards Jono

Total determination:) Great photoshopping Jono! - Albert

But what I want to know is why has the waddle gone missing? And ears seem bigger in one than the other! But I was looking for a while wondering what was going on and then read the comments. Ahhh it becomes clear! I wasn't so brave, so I just place my ever increasing backside in the shot! Well done Jono!
kodak_challenge19-Mar-2005 11:40
i thought it was good even before I worked out what he'd done - just hugely disturbing.
Flick.
kodak_challenge19-Mar-2005 10:26
Tok me a while to work out what was going on here, but now ~I understand - very clever shot, with a worrying symmetry :-) Quentin

Ambiguity my eye! I've just realised what was bothering me about this. Both sides of his face are identical. He's used one half of his face, reversed one and spliced them together, but he's altered the hair line a little to confuse. In fact I believe if you use half of each face and splice them, you'll get the real him. Why did it take me so long to realise? - probably because the expression is so disturbing that you don't analyse it any further. Of course, the clue was in the title all along. Clever Jono, you sneaky git!
Flick.
kodak_challenge19-Mar-2005 01:21
Ambiguity can be either good or bad. I don't think Jono looks psychotic here, though. He looks more like he's in pain. - Warren
kodak_challenge18-Mar-2005 19:00
Yeah - well - I spent three hours getting rid of the wrinkles ;-)
kodak_challenge18-Mar-2005 18:59
PS: you certainly look a lot younger than in Silas's shot of you :-)
Flick.
kodak_challenge18-Mar-2005 18:48
Ha! Have you ever tried keeping the focus when you haven't got the camera to your eye?
Poor old Ted. Great idea though Jono and very well put together.
Flick.
kodak_challenge18-Mar-2005 18:43
Thank you very much - at least I had the courage to make myself sharp!
:-p - and yes - we used to hang teddy out of the window (both of us together)
kind regards
jono
kodak_challenge18-Mar-2005 18:38
LOL...i think both of you look psychotic ;-) Makes me wonder what kind of a life poor teddy had before he was rescued...
Flick.
kodak_challenge18-Mar-2005 18:35
Hi Flick - I thought 'art' was all about ambiguity . . . .
What do you think - kind regards jono
kodak_challenge18-Mar-2005 18:30
Ah, but which is which ;-) Ambiguous...
Flick.
