3rd Place Fish Watching by Kate Westrop

My elder daughter, instead of studying and revising spends a considerable amount of time watching her pet goldfish. The shot was taken through her mirrored fish tank with the fish swimming across the reflection.

Hand held at 1/20 sec/f3.2, ISO 320 full exif

It's hard for me to comment on this image because I was there when you took it, and because I'm an enduring fan of your photography as well as being your friend. However, I really do think this is an outstanding shot. The colour, the light, the depth of field, the pose, the intriguing glimpses of the room....everything comes together here to make for a haunting and original portrait. Flick.
