Pat is correct. Its not a nuke. Its a coal fired generating plant emitting about 18 times the radiation of a nuke plant. Seems that mixed in with all that anthracite is a lot of thorium and other radioactive trace elements.

I love the way the cooling towers are "holding hands" with their steam.
BTW, Pat is right...these are just for cooling...the two tall stacks in the background are coming off the boilers, but you can rest fairly easy knowing that more than likely the exhaust from the boilers goes through bag houses and scrubbers before dumping to the atmosphere.
It's not a nuclear plant. There are no nuclear plants in West Virginia. This is a two-unit coal-fired plant with hyperbolic cooling towers, as most large coal-fired plants have.
