We did laundry, used the pool (Northwest Coasters think of swimming as an indoor sport), and played on the putting course (we did that a lot).

Salishan Lodge’s buildings are connected by covered walkways. Our new room (in the far corner of the building, on the upper floor) offered a nice sunset view.

All along the coast, the tidal rise and fall are quite large; at low tide, a channel is left in the mud through which water flows.

It was often quite windy on the coast, and at times foggy, even in summer.
