This photo is the only one in this gallery
that was not taken by Stan.
He found it three years later,
in a great blog on the Denver Post web site describing
preparations for the 2008 event.

But Stan remembers the fellow climbing the mountain
on the tricycle, a hand-powered vehicle
designed for paraplegics.
This guy, who was part of a group that also rode
in 2006, pulled himself up by sheer brute strength
using a bike that must have weighed forty pounds.
Amazing!
