Ride the Rockies and other cycling tours in Colorado

Colorado is a cycling mecca - gorgeous countryside, challenging high-altitude mountain passes, and lots of sunshine. Stan and his friends in Colorado have enjoyed some wonderful rides in this beautiful state.

One of the favorite tours of the year is Ride the Rockies ( www.ridetherockies.com ). The route changes every year, passing through small mountain towns and villages along the way. The distance varies, but is usually between 400 - 450 miles (640 - 740 km) over seven days. Elevation is usually above the 6000 foot level, rising over mountain passes as high as 11,000 feet. You have to be fit to do this tour, but all ages have done it, from 13 year olds to cyclists still going strong into their late 70's. Anyone who loves cycling and has not done it before simply must do this ride!
