香港電車在香港島北部沿海岸線行走,來往筲箕灣至堅尼地城,另有環形支線來往跑馬地.香港電車於1904年7月起投入服務,成立之初有26輛單層電車,車身在英國製造以組件形式運抵香港後再作裝嵌.至1912年引入10輛雙層電車以應付日益增加的乘客量,當時的雙層電車上層無蓋兼設公園式座椅,到了1923年電車上層才裝置永久性木質上蓋.1965年電車公司引入單層拖卡附設於雙層電車之後,單層拖卡列作頭等車廂可載36人,至1982年退役.1990年起所有電車站及電車進行翻新工程,電車地台由原來的木板改為金屬地板,及更新齒輪系統和車底安裝隔音裙以減低行車時的噪音.
