Tallulah Gorge - Georgia

Tallulah Gorge is rigth off US441 about 35 miles north of the I285 and I85 and is a striaght drive following I985 to US441. It is a quick drive and you leave the traffic behind fairly quickly. The Gorge itself is large and there is a viewing area about 2 minutes off 441 on the South side before you cross the Gorge heading North. The real viewing is in the Park itself which you enter just North of the Gorge on US441. Typical $2 parking fee and the Interpretive Center is very nice. Two short walks take you to various outlooks. The trails to the Gorge floor is danagerous and requires special permission. Also since the Gorge is fed by a dam and thus the water flow is restricted most of the time. We lucked out and stopped there on a day schduled for larger water flow. These days happen several times a year so check ahead of visiting.

These were all shot with Canon 20D and 24-70L and 100-400L hand held from several hundred yards away. Shot RAW and converted with Bibble Labs and some tweaking in Photoshop CS for resize and frame.

I rate the area a 5 and the access difficlty a 3-4.
