Patriot's Point Maritime and Naval Museum

This is a great place to visit to get some insight into the maritime side of war. You can roam the USS Yorktown (CV-10) as well as the LAFFEY (DD-724), the Coast Guard's INGHAM (WHEC-35) and the Navy's Diesel Sub the CLAMAGORE (SS-343). The sub is not for the clostrophobic as it is tight, small and narrow, there is no turning back once you go in. The collection of aircraft is impressive and if your think the Yorktown looks big on the outside, just go inside! Unfortunately the commercialism or the tourist business makes some of it comical as there is a concesision stand in the Yorktown and a theater. But you could easily spend close to 2 hours or more just in the Yorktown. There is a Medal of Honor exhibit, but it is not up to date.

All shot with 20D and 24-70L and processed with Bibble and PS CS (Most of the sub shots were with the Tamron 17-35Di)

Touring these ships you can not help be be amazed and impressed about what fathers and grandfathers went through and did to give us the world we have today!
