Keown Falls is located northwest part of Georgia near Villanow and LaFayette. From Villanow, Ga. go south on Hwy. 136 a short distance and make a right on Pocket Road. Follow Pocket Rd. about 4-5 miles to a turn off on the right leading to the falls trailhead. The trial is about 1.8 miles with the last hundred yards being a bit steep on some rocks. You can also climb up to an observation deck overlooking the falls which flows over a wide overhanging cliff. The flow over the falls varies widely and during dry perids may not be flowing at all. It is best to go after some heavy rains.
