Not to be confused with Desoto Falls in Georgia, this falls is a double drop falls, the first drop is man made by a dam. I was fortunate enough to be there a day after heavy rains so the flows were intense. This is about 15 minutes from Valley head so be sure to take in Sequoyah Caverns as well.
Notice the difference in water flow! In 2004 I went 2 days after huge rains storms blew through, in 2005 it had not rained much the previous week or two.
These shots were all taken with a Canon 20D and 24-70L Lens using a B+W ND103 and B+W CP mounted on a Bogen 3021Pro tripod and using a Bogen 322RC2 Ball/Grip head.
