Thank you all so much for kind words for the dying tulip over the past couple days. It staggers me :)

This has got to be the last. Notice the lack of color and shine to the curly, drying petals and the pistal (?? correct me if my biology is wrong please) has lost its beautiful saturation.

Several inquired about the lighting. The strobe at half power --with reflector pan-- bounced straight at the ceiling about 5.5 feet up, maybe 4 feet directly above the plant. Think it could be done with any external flash that can bounce.

Stunning composition Karen. It is almost as if this unusual flower has a mind of its own, making for you, a perfect pose. Really like the subdued coloring of the leaves. Nice contrasts. All my best, Michael.

It still has lovely, rich colors and interesting, graceful shapes. Much more interesting than a perfect bloom.

It's sad to see them go but this is a super capture with the deep purple petals and the pistal and stamen still looking strong. V.

A feel of "day after the party" for this poor tulip, with some of the superb colors that are now gone. The picture is still excellent though!

Aged beauty, and is still beautiful. The petals looks so silky and smooth. Nice dof in there too.
