wow, this is a great photo-journal shot Karen! B&W gives it a Life magazine look.

Great piece of thought-provoking photo-journalism and technically spot-on.

There but for the grace of God go I etc etc ......

Her hand and her face say "Young"
very sad situation

Powerful and moving image. Very sad. Works wonderfully in b/w and GMV.

Very powerful -
Ian Clowes02-Apr-2006 08:18
Never brave enough to take these shots - yet they
have a purpose as Tim described. Powerful - as I sit looking at it
in centrally heated comfort on my wifi laptop etc etc !
Robin Reid02-Apr-2006 06:14
Hmmm... powerful image Karen.
purpod02-Apr-2006 05:57
She doesn't look like she's "exploring" to me. Powerfully sad ~
Elaine (etfitz)02-Apr-2006 04:56

Life can be so cruel to some. The difference between our comfortable lives and where life has taken this girl is very small. It reminds me that I need to be a better person and help those who have had a bit of bad luck or developed an addiction.

Powerful , thoughtful photo Karen.. The rest is up to us.

I can answer every one of Dang's questions. Just saying...

Great shot, Karen! :-)
Guest 02-Apr-2006 04:01
Karen, I'm sitting here with a thousand questions knowing I'll never have an answer. Amazing shot, and perfect for black & white.

Excellent b/w and an excellent subject for b/w treatment.
Guest 02-Apr-2006 01:59
Love the title, as much as the image. Luxury has not necessarily always been luxury. Great capture.

It sounds like you had a wonderful day with your children. I know what a treasure that was.

I can't help but wonder about this youngster's mother.
