Happy Birthday Morgan! You are a pillar of strength and I admire you so much! xx

Went to the National Arboretum which is about 20 minutes from downtown DC; one of the main things I wanted to see were these impressive columns. Unfortunatly they were completely fenced off for construction but after walking for 20 minutes up and down hills I spotted a break in the fence and took this. I was transported back to Greece--could be what Olympia looked like or even the Acropolis in Athens or better yet Delphi. (Not bad from almost no processing? minor usm thats it-no crop, no contrast or saturation adjustments) More about them here:

Can't promise I'll get to everyone tonight:my legs and knees barely function and I have a 630am flight home in the morning, which means a really early wake up call:(

Ah another pbase breaking and entering!
Sleep well after your early start!

The big expanse of grass in the foreground somehow makes them look very distant and very tall. Much better than showing lots of sky.

Good catch. Glad you perservered til you found an angle to shoot at. Sorry you killed your knees doing it.

Good stuff, Karen! Kind of surreal, which is one of my favorite, um, ways of being? Anyway, good image. Glad you hopped the fence... :-)

Very interesting subject.
Did you get chased down and arrested for breaking and entering?

I like the way you've completely removed the building cleanly and seemingly effortlessly! ;-)
